In May 2003, Amanda Carroll opened Bead Boutique, a 1200 square foot, full service beading studio and jewelry gallery in Matthews NC. From the humble beginnings of beads in bowls, atop remnants of her antique furniture business, and a one woman show doing everything from repairs & classes, to fixing the toilet, Bead Boutique has emerged as the place to go for “everything you need to bead” and so much more!
Amanda learned early on that it takes more than the best selection, and highest quality products to succeed in this business. After 6 years in the same space, Bead Boutique was bursting at the seams. Then the question becomes, do we stay status quo or move on to bigger and better? The answer was easy for Amanda, who has a vision of a full scale jewelry making academy and all the product to go along with it. So in the midst of a recession Bead Boutique moves to 2400 square feet and the dream continues! Jewelry Arts Academy is now located in Bead Boutique and offers jewelry making classes from beginner to advanced. With our extensive knowledge of beading, metal working, lampworking and most other jewelry-making techniques, let us help you realize your dream.
