Raku Beads, start to finish with guest instructor Keith O’Conner

In this 2 day workshop you will learn to hand form, glaze and kiln fire clay raku beads. Subjects covered are: #1 Creating focal beads and pendants by carving and making/using stamps. #2 Hand painting your choice of glazes in preparation for firing. #3 Making the racks to fire the beads in .#4 Setting up the beads on the racks. #5 Firing the kiln and removing/cleaning the beads. #6 Making your own beautiful piece of jewelry. The results will be different for everyone, this is beauty of Raku firing, you never know what you’ll get but it’s sure to be amazing!
All supplies are included, but if you have personal stamps or textures you’d like to use feel free to bring them. Wear comfortable clothing, preferably cotton, closed toe shoes and plan to get dirty. Bring an apron or old over shirt to protect clothing.
